Daniel Brew is an electric guitarist focusing on the interpretation of 20th- and 21st-century contemporary art music. He is guitarist and producer of the internationally acclaimed ensemble Distractfold, has performed with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Manchester Camerata, and has appeared at festivals and concert series across Europe. He has participated in ensemble residencies at Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Manchester. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Open University, supported by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership, where his research traces the development of the electric guitar within contemporary art music.
