Colin Alexander is a cellist and composer working across a range of disciplines and traditions. As well as collaborating with artists such as Kit Downes, Héloïse Werner, Abel Selaocoe, Max Baillie and Jas Kayser, he performs regularly with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, LSO Ensemble, 12 Ensemble and a variety of world-music and improvisation groups. He has composed for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Contemporary Orchestra, Contrechamps, Mercury Quartet, Hyper Duo and Le Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain. As half of the duo Addelam, he has released two albums on Big Ship, while his solo and collaborative LPs and EPs Homework, While Swimming and codi have been released on October House Records (O.H.R.). He also features on Tre Voci’s record AURO and compilations by Nonclassical (I hope this finds you well in these strange times – Vol. 2) and Accidental Records (Antechamber Music 2). This year he has released four new solo cello suites on O.H.R. as well as composing and performing the music for Bijan Sheibani’s new play The Cord at Bush Theatre, London.
