AZADI.mp3 آزادی is a London-based producer and singer who uses atmospheric soundscapes and densely textured visuals to explore moments of grace and failure. Their musical education was shaped by a mixture of parental car rides soundtracked by Irani heavy-hitters such as Googoosh and Shajarian, and pop anthems of the early noughties in their headphones. Their debut EP Summer in the Crypt was created as part of the 2019 NTS Work In Progress artist development programme. They also feature on Intended Consequence, the latest compilation by Apranik Records, highlighting electronic music made by Iranian women and non-binary people, which supports the protests that erupted in Iran in 2022.
